Mix A Spoonful Of This Nutritious Moringa Metkut With Rice At Lunch

The popular dal powder which is known to be one of the best sources of protein, gets an extra boost of nutrients with the addition of moringa.

INGREDIENTS

½ cup chana dal ¼ cup urad dal 3 tablespoons moong dal 3 tablespoons ragi/bajra 3 teaspoons uncooked rice 1 teaspoon mustard seeds ½ teaspoon cumin seeds ½ teaspoon ajwain seeds 1 teaspoon whole black peppercorns 1 teaspoon coriander seeds ¼ teaspoon methi seeds 1 clove ½-inch piece dry ginger 2 teaspoons asafoetida 1 teaspoon turmeric powder ½ teaspoon fennel seeds 1 teaspoon moringa powder Salt, to taste

METHOD

Toast all the whole pulses in a dry pan separately and set aside to cool for a bit.

METHOD

Repeat the process with the whole spices and toast until they are aromatic.

METHOD

Once cooled, add along with the remaining ingredients to a blender jar and turn into a fine powder.

Store in an air-tight jar and eat sprinkled over hot rice, with a generous dollop of ghee.
