Millet upma is a delicious and healthy breakfast option that combines the goodness of various millets. It is not only easy to make but also healthy to start your day or have it as a mid-day snack.
1 cup mixed millets (a combination of ragi, jowar, bajra, and foxtail millet) 1 tablespoon ghee 1/2 cup chopped onions 1/4 cup chopped carrots 1/4 cup chopped green peas 1/4 cup chopped green beans 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds 1/4 teaspoon mustard seeds 1 dried red chilli 1 cup water Salt to taste
Heat some ghee and add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, and dried red chilli.
Add chopped onion, carrot, peas, and beans. Cook till they are soft.
Stir in the mixed millet and turmeric powder. Cook for a few minutes.
Gradually add water, and stir until the millets are cooked.
Season with salt to taste. Serve hot with coconut chutney or sambar.
