A health upgrade from potato-based tikkis, these millet tikkis combine sama ke chawal with healthy vegetables for a delicious packed lunch to carry to work.
¼ cup kala chana 1 cup cooked sama ke chawal 1 sweet potato, boiled ½ cup grated carrot 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste 2 green chillies, chopped ¼ cup chopped coriander ¼ cup chopped mint ¼ teaspoon garam masala Salt, to taste Oil, for shallow frying
Add all the ingredients to a large mixing bowl and mash everything thoroughly to combine.
Add a couple of tablespoons of breadcrumbs if the mixture is too wet and mix again.
Shape the mixture into lemon-sized balls and pat into a flat disc between your palms.
Fry the tikkis in hot oil, few at a time, on both sides for 2-3 minutes, until golden brown. Serve hot with chutney or ketchup.
