One of the winter-special delights that people like to indulge in when it’s cold out there is methi aloo. It offers warmth to the body and pairs impeccably with stuffed parathas, plain parathas, and masala parathas.
¾ tsp cumin seeds 250 grams potatoes 2 tbsp oil 1.5 cups methi leaves 1 tsp chilli powder 2 green chillies 1 tsp coriander powder A pinch of hing Salt to taste 2 garlic cloves (optional) ¼ tsp turmeric powder ¾ tsp garam masala
Soak methi leaves in salted water for 10 minutes to get rid of mud and dirt.
Drain excess water from leaves. Meanwhile, let cumin seeds splutter in hot oil
Add turmeric, hing, and chopped garlic. Saute for two minutes.
Add diced potatoes to the mix. Sprinkle salt and put on the lid.
Once the potatoes are half done, add methi leaves, coriander powder, and garam masala.
As soon as the potatoes turn soft, switch off the flame. You can garnish it with coriander leaves and add some lemon juice.
