Winters without matar paratha seem incomplete. Fresh peas are perfect for preparing stuffed parathas and enjoy them with pickles, chutney, and raita. These flatbreads are healthy and widely consumed across North India.
1 cup flour 1 cup peas 1-inch ginger 1 tsp cumin seeds ½ tsp turmeric, red chilli 1 chopped green chilli Water as needed Salt to taste 1 tbsp oil 1 tbsp butter ½ tsp coriander powder ¼ tsp garam masala
Sprinkle salt on flour and knead it into a soft dough. Keep it aside.
Heat oil in a saucepan and add cumin seeds, turmeric powder, ginger, and green chilli.
Add peas into the pan and cover it. After 10 minutes, add other spices.
Saute peas until they are soft. Turn off the flame and mush them.
Divide the dough into soft balls and fill them with the matar mixture.
Roll the stuffed dough and roast it on a hot tawa using butter. Enjoy matar paratha!
