1 tbsp cooking oil 1/2 tsp cumin seeds 2 to 3 Bay leaves 1 chopped onion 1 tbsp garlic and green chili paste 1 tbsp coriander powder 1/4 tsp turmeric powder 1 tsp goda masala 1/2 tsp red chili powder 1 cup basmati 1 1/2 cup water 1 cup Matar or peas Salt to taste

Heat a cooker and add oil. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.

Add bay leaves and whole spices cinnamon or cardamom. Add chopped onion and saute for 3 to 4 minutes.

Add in the prepared garlic green chili paste, goda masala, coriander powder, turmeric powder, and red chili powder.

Mix well and let the spices cook for 2 more minutes. Now, add rice (washed and soaked for 30 mins).

Add 1 1/2 cup water. Add peas and salt to taste. Mix everything well.

Let everything cook for 2 whistles. When done, serve the rice hot.
