Masala Rum Chai: The Perfect Chai You Need

Ingredients 3 tbsp black tea 60 ml dark rum ¼ portion ginger ¼ tsp ground nutmeg 2 cinnamon sticks 5 cloves ½ tsp fennel seeds 4 green cardamoms 1 ½ black peppercorns 1 star anise 3 tbsp sugar 2 cups water 2 cups milk

Step 1

Heat a pan and add water. Add ginger and tea. 

Step 2

Break all the other whole spices in a mortar and pestle. 

Step 3

Add all the whole spices and let the water boil for 10 minutes. 

Step 4

Add milk and sugar. Let it boil for 18 to 20 minutes.

Step 5

Strain the tea in a cup and add 1 tbsp rum per serving. Garnish with star anise and serve!
