Masala poha is a traditional South Indian breakfast option that is now enjoyed across the country. It's the perfect quick fix, made with flattened rice, a mix of veggies, peanuts, and a blend of spices.

Ingredients

1.5 cups flattened rice 1 tablespoon oil 2 tablespoons roasted peanuts ½ teaspoon mustard seeds 10 curry leaves ¼ cup chopped onion ¼ cup peas ¼ cup chopped tomato ½ teaspoon turmeric powder ¼ teaspoon red chilli powder Salt to taste Lemon juice for garnishing

Step 1

Rinse the flattened rice till soft. Set it aside.

Step 2

Heat some oil and saute mustard seeds, curry leaves, and chopped onion.

Mix in peas, chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, salt, and red chilli powder.

When the tomatoes are soft, add rinsed flattened rice and mix well.

Step 5

Cook for about five minutes and garnish with roasted peanuts and lemon juice.
