Aamras is a sweet and creamy Indian dessert made out of ripe mangoes. Though Aamras literally translates to mango juice, it is actually mango pulp. The dish is popular in the states of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh in the summer season when the mangoes are abundantly found. Here’s the recipe of Aamras. Take a look:
Ripe Mangoes Milk Sugar Ground Cardamom
Take 2 large size mangoes or 3 medium size mangoes and peel them using a sharp knife.
Chop the mangoes into pieces. You’ll need 2 cups of chopped mangoes.
Add 2 cups of mangos, 2 tbsp sugar, 1 tsp ground cardamom, and ¼ cup milk in a blender. Mix them well.
Refrigerate the mango ras for few hours. Garnish with slivered almonds and pistachios and serve chilled.
