Sprouts are nutritious, and delicious and can be used in various ways. If you have whole grains, beans, or seeds, they are easy to sprout at home. Within a few days, they grow into nutrient-rich sprouts, perfect for salads, snacks, or adding to various dishes.
You will need whole grains, beans, or seeds (like moong, chickpeas, or fenugreek), some water, a clean jar or bowl and a cloth or strainer.
Rinse the grains or beans thoroughly. Soak them in water overnight (8-12 hours).
After soaking, drain the water and rinse the grains again.
Transfer the grains to a clean jar or bowl. Cover the mouth with a cloth or lid with holes for airflow. Keep the jar at room temperature, away from direct sunlight.
Rinse and drain the grains every 12 hours to keep them moist.
In 2-3 days, you'll see small sprouts. They are now ready to eat.
