Ghee is a great source of good fats that the world has now discovered too. But we have been making it at home for years now! Click for some tips to make Desi ghee at home.
Use chilled water to start making the ghee. The malai works best with ice cold water.
The traditional way to make ghee is with your hands. Try doing that instead of using a blender.
Only use malai that is not too old to make the ghee. Do not refrigerate it for too long.
Store the ghee in a glass jar or at least a steel jar. It lasts longer that way.
Always use a heavy stainless steel pan to make the ghee. Do not use an aluminium pan.
