Making French Toast? Use These Tips For A Fluffier One

By Deepali Verma

French toast holds a special place in egg lover’s menu. This sweet and delectable dessert has a delicate, fluffy interior and a crunchy exterior which suits every mood. But your French toast never gets fluffy? To make fluffy French toast at home that comes out flawlessly, use these six methods.

Bread Matters

Broad breads become fluffier as they contain more mixture. It is ok to use thinly sliced bread as well, although there is a risk that it will break after soaking in the wet batter.

Egg Milk Ratio

Use 2 to 4 eggs to make 2 slices of French toast. Be careful to add more eggs to the batter than milk when making it.

Mix Well

The key step in creating French toast is this one. Till you see foam on the mixture, thoroughly combine the egg, sugar, and milk batter.

Soaking

Don't forget to dunk the bread in the liquid mixture. Bread should be soaked until it has absorbed the liquid and seems soft.

Greasing

On the hot pan, add 1 tbsp of oil and 1/2 tbsp. of butter. The bread won't turn out well if you merely cook it in butter since the butter will burn very quickly and leave a bitter taste.

Make sure the pan is preheated on low heat for fluffy French toast. Avoid overheating it because doing so will cause the bread's inside to become undercooked and soggy while the bread's base will cook more quickly and crisp up.
