Make Your Own Whipped Cream

By Deepali Verma

Your pastries will seem even more beautiful when you top them with whipped cream. But what should you do if there isn't any whipped cream on hand? It is possible to create whipped cream with just a mason jar. Don't trust us? Get the complete recipe here.

Ingredients

1 cup heavy cream, 1-2 tbsp sugar, 1 tsp vanilla extract (or any flavouring of your choice), 1 Mason jar with lid (suitable for approx 500ml).

Step 1

Before you start, freeze the heavy cream for about 10 minutes, along with the closed Mason jar. This method requires both to be sufficiently cold in order to function.

Step 2

In the Mason jar, combine the cream, sugar, and vanilla essence. Tightly cap the container. Make sure the lid is tightly closed.

Step 3

Beginning with a steady motion, shake the Mason jar. For around 5-10 minutes, keep up the intensity.

Step 4

As you shake the cream, pay attention to how it sounds. It will sound heavy and dense at first. The sound will alter when it becomes whipped cream.

Step 5

Check the cream's appearance by opening the lid. It needs to appear soft and not come off too easily.

Step 6

Don't whip the cream too much. As soon as it is prepared, use it.
