Mawa samosa is an authentic Indian sweet which features a crispy samosa shell with a sweet khoya (mawa) filling. While they are perfect for festivities, with this easy recipe, you can make it any day of the year.
For The Mawa Filling: 500 grams khoya (mawa) 35 grams powdered sugar 20 grams almonds 20 grams cashew nuts 1 tablespoon dried coconut 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder 1 tablespoon ghee For The Dough: 300 grams all-purpose flour 30 grams powdered sugar 2 tablespoons semolina 2 tablespoons ghee 150 ml warm water Oil for frying
Roast the nuts and coconut in ghee. Saute khoya and add sugar, cardamom, and roasted mixture. Set aside.
Mix flour, sugar, semolina, and ghee. Knead a smooth dough with warm water. Let it rest for 30 minutes.
Roll the dough into circles and cut in half.
Add a spoonful of mawa filling, brush the edges with water, form cones, and seal.
Deep fry the samosas till golden brown. Drain on tissue papers and serve.
