An Upside-Down Plum Cake is a delightful dessert with fresh plums arranged in a caramelized layer at the bottom of a cake pan. This is a delectable Christmas dessert that will surely spark the festive spirit in the hearts of everyone who eats it.

4-5 ripe plums, pitted and halved 1/4 cup unsalted butter 1/2 cup brown sugar 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened 1 cup granulated sugar 2 large eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/2 cup milk

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.

In a saucepan, melt 1/4 cup of butter, add brown sugar, and spread the caramelized mixture in the bottom of the cake pan. Arrange halved plums, cut side down, on top.

In a medium bowl, whisk together 1 1/2 cups flour, 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon salt.

In a separate large bowl, cream 1/2 cup softened butter with 1 cup granulated sugar. Add 2 eggs and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, then gradually mix in the dry ingredients and 1/2 cup of milk.

Spread the cake batter over the plum layer in the pan and smooth the top. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then invert it onto a serving platter. Cool it down before slicing, and enjoy the moist upside-down cake with caramelized plums.
