Make This Crunchy Coconut Prawns For An Evening Snack

When you’re craving fried food and want to try something different, these crispy prawns are the perfect tropical treat to enjoy with a beverage or even a cocktail.

INGREDIENTS

250 grams medium prawns, cleaned 1 teaspoon garlic powder 1 teaspoon black pepper 2 eggs 8 tablespoons panko breadcrumbs 8 tablespoons desiccated coconut 3 tablespoons plain flour Oil, for frying Salt, to taste

METHOD

Combine the breadcrumbs and coconut in a dish and set aside.

Sprinkle the garlic powder, pepper and salt over the prawns and let it marinate for 10 minutes.

Whisk the eggs in a separate bowl after which you can individually dredge each prawn with flour.

Dip it in the egg and coat generously with the breadcrumb-coconut mixture on all sides.

Dust off any excess and allow it to sit on a wire rack as you wait for the oil to heat up.

Gently drop each prawn into the hot oil and fry for a couple of minutes, until golden-brown.
