Thatte idli, a traditional South Indian dish, is known for its unique shape and texture. Unlike the small, regular idlis, thatte idlis are larger in size and are usually thicker. Here’s you can make thatte idli.
1 cup rice 1/2 cup urad dal 1/2 teaspoon salt Water as needed Thatte idli plate
Rinse and soak rice and urad dal for at least 4-5 hours. Grind them with water into a batter.
Let the batter ferment till it becomes fluffy. Mix in salt to taste.
Grease a thatte idli plate and pour the batter into it. Steam the idli.
After 15-20 minutes, once the idli is perfectly cooked, take it out on a plate.
Pair the thatte idli with sambar and nariyal chutney and enjoy.
