Make Thai Lemon Fish At Home In Six Easy Steps

Thai Lemon Fish, also known as "Pla Nueng Manao" is a flavorful and zesty dish that combines the aromatic and citrus-y flavors of Thai cuisine. The best part is it can be made at home easily with a few simple ingredients! Let's see how

Ingredients

– 4 fillets of white fish – Salt and pepper to taste – 2 tablespoons vegetable oil – 3 tablespoons fish sauce – 2 tablespoons soy sauce – 2 tablespoons oyster sauce – 2 tablespoons lime juice – 1 tablespoon grated ginger – 2 cloves garlic, minced – 1 tablespoon honey  – 1 tblspn chili garlic sauce – Fresh cilantro, chopped – Lime wedges

Step 1

In a bowl, whisk together fish sauce, soy sauce, oyster sauce, fresh lime juice, grated ginger, minced garlic, honey (or brown sugar), chili garlic sauce, and lime zest. Make sure that the honey or sugar dissolves completely.

Step 2

Pat the fish fillets dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper. Place the fillets in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag. Pour half of the marinade over the fish. Marinate in the refrigerator for 30 minutes

Step 3

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Heat vegetable oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, sear the fish fillets for 2-3 minutes on each side until they get a golden-brown color

Step 4

If your skillet is oven-safe, transfer it directly to the preheated oven. Otherwise, transfer the seared fish to a baking dish. Pour the remaining marinade over the fish. Bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes

Step 5

Once the fish is done, garnish with fresh chopped cilantro and serve hot. Serve the Thai Lemon Fish over steamed jasmine rice or with a side of stir-fried vegetables.

You can also combine extra lime juice, fish sauce, a pinch of sugar, and chopped chili to create a dipping sauce to balance the sweet, sour, salty, and spicy flavours.
