Make Tara Sutaria's Favourite Stick Jaw Candies At Home!

Ingredients

– 1 cup (200g) unsalted butter – 2 cups (400g) granulated sugar – 1 cup light corn syrup – 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk – 1 teaspoon vanilla extract – A pinch of salt – Vegetable oil or butter for greasing the pan – Parchment paper

Step 1

Grease a baking dish or pan with vegetable oil or butter. Line the pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang on the sides for easy removal.

Step 2

In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add granulated sugar, corn syrup, sweetened condensed milk, and a pinch of salt. Stir continuously to combine.

Step 3

Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring constantly. Continue cooking until the temperature reaches around 240°F (115°C), which is the soft-ball stage. This stage ensures a chewy toffee consistency.

Step 4

Once the mixture heats up, remove it from heat. Stir in the vanilla extract. Pour the hot toffee mixture into the prepared pan.

Step 5

Let the toffee cool at room temperature for a while. Place it in the refrigerator to fully set. Once the toffee has fully set, use a sharp knife to cut it into bite-sized pieces. If it sticks to the knife, you can dip the knife in hot water to make cutting easier.
