Valentine's Day is a special time of year to show your love and affection to those who are dear to you. These strawberry sugar cookies are perfect for an at home baking session together to celebrate love!
2 cups flour 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder ½ teaspoon salt ½ cup butter 1 ¼ cups plus 2 tablespoons granulated sugar 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract ¼ cup milk 3.5 tablespoons strawberry liquid ¼ teaspoon red food colouring
Start by making a strawberry syrup from 2 cups of chopped strawberries and 1 cup of sugar heated over a low flame.
Mix the flour, baking powder and salt, and in another bowl cream together the sugar and butter
Slowly add the strawberry syrup, vanilla and flour mix into the butter stirring until it forms a dough. Chill the dough for 2 hours.
Scoop the dough onto a lined baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes at 180 C. Cool completely before decorating.
