Aloo Tikki Chaat is a popular street food in India that combines crispy potato patties with a variety of flavourful toppings and chutneys. It's delicious and perfect for a snack or light meal.
4 potatoes 2 tbsp bread crumbs 1 green chilli, finely chopped 1 tsp ginger 1 tsp cumin powder 1 tsp coriander powder 1 tsp chaat masala
1 cup yoghurt 1/2 cup tamarind chutney 1/2 cup green chutney 1 onion 1 tomato 1/2 cup sev 2 tbsp fresh coriander leaves 1 tsp chaat masala 1 tsp red chilli powder 1 tsp roasted cumin powder
In a large bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, bread crumbs, green chilli, grated ginger, cumin powder, coriander powder, chaat masala, and salt.
Divide the potato mixture into equal portions and shape each portion into a flat, round patty. Heat a few tablespoons of oil in a non-stick pan. Shallow fry for about 3-4 minutes per side.
Arrange the fried aloo tikkis on a serving plate. Drizzle whisked yoghurt over the tikkis. Add spoonfuls of tamarind chutney and green chutney.
Sprinkle chopped onions and tomatoes along with chaat masala, red chilli powder, roasted cumin powder, and a pinch of salt over the assembled chaat.
Generously sprinkle sev over the top. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
