Naan is the staple Indian flatbread that is the heart of a hearty Indian meal. If you love the restaurant-style garlic butter naan, this is your sign to make it at home with this easy recipe.
¼ cup warm water 2 teaspoons granulated sugar 1 ½ teaspoons active dry yeast ¾ cup warm milk ¾ cup dahi ¼ cup oil 4 cloves garlic 4 cups maida 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon salt 4 tablespoons butter Fresh cilantro (optional)
Whisk warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit till the yeast becomes foamy.
In a separate bowl, mix milk, dahi, oil, and minced garlic. Add the yeast mixture and mix.
Mix maida, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture and knead a dough.
Place the dough in an oiled bowl. Cover it with a damp cloth and let it rest for an hour.
When the dough rises, mix in melted butter and minced garlic. Roll portions of dough into circles and cook on both sides.
Garnish with garlic butter and cilantro, and serve.
