Dahi bhalla is a refreshing and healthy snack. The bhallas made with urad dal are served in a serving of dahi with a sweet hint. You can give the snack a Punjabi twist by adding the spicy green chutney along with tamarind chutney and enjoy.
For the Bhallas: Urad dal - 1 cup Ginger paste - 1/2 teaspoon Cumin seeds - 1/4 teaspoon Pinch of salt Oil for frying For the Dahi: Dahi - 2 cups Water - 4 cups Green chutney - 1 tablespoon Tamarind chutney - 1 tablespoon Pomegranate seeds - 1/4 cup Chopped cilantro
Prepare the batter for bhallas by soaking urad dal and blending it with cumin seeds, ginger paste, and salt.
Deep fry small portions of the batter to make the bhallas and soak them in water for about half an hour.
Whisk dahi and water together and add the soaked bhallas to it, removing the extra water in them.
Add the green and tamarind chutney with the spices and mix all the contents.
Garnish with pomegranate seeds and chopped cilantro, and your Punjabi snack will be ready.
