Shrikhand is a traditional dessert that originated in Maharashtra and is now also popular in states like Gujarat. Curd is used as a foundation for the treat, with various other ingredients added to the mix to improve its flavour and texture. Here's a recipe for you:
2 cups hung curd (Greek yoghurt can be used) 1/2 cup powdered sugar 1/4 teaspoon saffron threads 2 tablespoons of warm milk 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder Chopped nuts (pistachios, almonds) for garnish
Saffron threads should be soaked in warm milk for ten minutes to prepare saffron milk.
In a dish, mix powdered sugar and hung curd until smooth. Add the cardamom powder and saffron milk and stir.
Put the mixture in the fridge for a minimum of two hours.
Add some chopped nuts to the dish before serving. Enjoy it cold.
