Make Kaju Makhana Kheer With This Simple Recipe

Kaju Makhana Kheer is a luxurious and yummy Indian dessert made with cashews, fox nuts (makhana), milk, saffron, and cardamom. This creamy, mildly sweet dish is perfect for special occasions or festivals like Navratri. It’s not only delicious but also nutritious.

Ingredients

1 litre full cream milk ½ cup cashews 1 cup fox nuts ¼ cup sugar, or as per taste ¼ teaspoon cardamom powder A pinch of saffron strands 1 tsp ghee 10-12 raisins Almonds and pistachios for garnish

Step 1

Heat ghee in a pan and lightly roast the cashews and fox nuts until golden. Set aside.

Step 2

In the same pan, boil the milk and simmer on low for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Step 3

Add the roasted cashews, fox nuts and saffron milk to the boiling milk. Cook for 5-7 minutes.

Step 4

Add sugar and cardamom powder. Cook for 3-4 minutes until sugar dissolves.

Step 5

Add raisins and mix well. Garnish with chopped almonds and pistachios before serving.
