A chutney made of dates is very sweet and delightful to eat, with warming properties that serve as a perfect side dish during winter. Make this easy regional dates chutney from the state of Jharkhand to enjoy with your meals.
1 cup pitted dates 1/2 cup tamarind pulp 1 cup water 1 tsp red chilli powder 1/2 tsp cumin powder 1/4 tsp turmeric powder Salt to taste 1 tbsp jaggery
Combine the pitted dates, tamarind pulp, water, jaggery, red chilli powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, and salt.
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until the dates are soft and the mixture thickens.
Once cooled, blend the mixture in a blender until smooth.
Taste the chutney and adjust the sweetness and spiciness as needed.
