Jaggery Payasam is a South Indian traditional offering made during festivals or auspicious events. Here's how to make it at home.
4 tsp rice 1 cup grated coconut 4 cardamom pods 1 cup grated jaggery 10-12 cashews ½ cup boiled milk 3 cups of water

Soak the raw rice in water for 15 minutes. Add the soaked rice to the mixer grinder along with grated coconut and cardamom. Grind it to a smooth paste.

Heat ghee in a pan and fry the cashews till golden brown then set aside.

Add water to the ground rice-coconut paste and mix well. Add it to the pan and stir the mixture till it turns dull white.
Add the milk and grated jaggery and mix well. Cook on low flame for 10 minutes till everything is incorporated.
Garnish with fried cashew nuts and serve warm.
