Osmania Biscuits are Hyderabad's first choice for tea, which is flakey, buttery, and prepared to perfection. One biscuit is never enough when it comes to balancing sweetness and salt. Make this delectable snack to start the new year with these delish.

1 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 cup powdered sugar 1/2 cup unsalted butter (at room temperature) 1/4 teaspoon baking powder 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder A pinch of salt 2-3 tablespoons milk (as needed) Sliced almonds or cashews for garnish (optional)

Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a mixing bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, cardamom powder, and a pinch of salt. Set this dry mixture aside.

In another bowl, cream together the powdered sugar and unsalted butter until it becomes light and fluffy.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed butter and sugar mixture. Mix until everything is well combined and resembles a crumbly texture.

Slowly add milk, one tablespoon at a time, and knead the mixture to form a smooth dough. Use just the right amount of milk until the dough becomes soft and pliable but not too sticky.

Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness. Use a cookie cutter or a knife to cut the dough into desired shapes.

Place the cut-out biscuits on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each biscuit. Top the biscuits with pieces of almonds or cashews.

Bake the biscuits in the preheated oven at 350°F (180°C) temperature for about 12-15 minutes, until they turn golden brown around the edges.

Once baked, remove the biscuits from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack. Once completely cooled, store them in an airtight container or serve fresh.
