Make Hot Toddy To Survive The Winters

By Rittwik Naskar

A warm, boozy beverage that traces its origins back to the 18th century, hot toddy has been the cure-all when it comes to sore throat, nightcaps, and even the occasional pick-me-up.

1½ cup water 100 ml whiskey 2 tbsp honey 3-4 tbsp lemon juice 3-4 slices of lemon 1 stick of cinnamon

Ingredients

Put a saucepan on medium-low heat and add the water. Bring the water up to a gentle simmer.

Step 1

Once the water in the pan turns hot, add in the cinnamon stick, followed by 2 slices of lemon. Let the flavours infuse with the water, then take it off the heat.

Step 2

Pour the whiskey equally into two tall coffee mugs. Add a tablespoon of honey in each cup topped off with the hot water from the saucepan.

Step 3

Add 2 tablespoons of lemon juice on top of each mug and mix well. Taste to check if the flavours are balanced out, then garnish with lemon slices and serve piping hot!
