Make Gujarati-Style Khandvi For A Healthy Weekend Snack

Khandvi is a fermented snack that is often made in Gujarat and Maharashtra. The besan-based snack is not just tasty but healthy. So, to munch something guilt-free, you can make khandvi with this easy recipe.

Ingredients

1 cup besan ¾ cup sour curd 2 cups water 1 teaspoon ginger-green chilli paste ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder Salt to taste 1 pinch hing 2 tablespoons oil 1 teaspoon mustard seeds A few curry leaves 1 tablespoon sesame seeds 2 dried red chillies 2 tablespoons chopped coriander leaves 2 tablespoons grated coconut

Step 1

Mix besan, sour curd, water, ginger-green chilli paste, turmeric powder, salt, and hing to make a smooth batter.

Step 2

Grease a baking tray, pour the batter, and spread it into a thin layer. Cook the batter on low heat for about ten minutes.

Step 3

Once cooked, cut the khandvi into long rectangles and roll each strip.

Step 4

Heat some oil, add mustard seeds and let them splutter. Add curry leaves and sesame seeds and cook till fragrant.

Step 5

Pour the tempering on the khandvi rolls you just prepared.

Step 6

Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and grated coconut, and serve with chutney.
