Corn tortillas are a staple in Mexican cuisine, offering a gluten-free and versatile base for various dishes. Learn how to make fresh, homemade corn tortillas with this simple recipe.
2 cups masa harina (corn flour) 1 ½ cups warm water ¼ tsp salt
In a large bowl, mix masa harina and salt. Gradually add warm water, kneading until a smooth dough forms.
Divide the dough into small balls, about the size of a golf ball. Place each ball between two sheets of plastic or parchment paper, then flatten with a tortilla press or rolling pin.
Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Cook each tortilla for 1-2 minutes on each side, until slightly golden and puffed. Keep tortillas warm in a cloth or tortilla warmer until ready to serve.
