A perfect morning drink that is packed with nutrients to energise your day. In just a few minutes, you can make walnut-banana smoothies. Walnuts add a boost of healthy fats, fibre, and plant-based protein to keep you satisfied. This smoothie takes only 5 minutes to make.
1 large or 2 small, ripe bananas, peeled and sliced 1 cup vanilla almond milk or other milk of choice 1/4 cup raw walnuts 1 tablespoon almond butter or peanut butter 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional) 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon 1 cup of ice
Add the sliced banana, walnuts, almond butter, honey, cinnamon and 1/2 cup of the almond milk to a high-powered blender.
Blend on high speed until smooth and creamy, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed.
Add the ice and the remaining 1/2 cup of almond milk. Blend again until thick and frosty.
Taste and adjust sweetness, if desired, by adding more honey or maple syrup.
Pour into a glass and top with extra cinnamon, walnuts or banana slices if desired. Enjoy your nutritious walnut-banana smoothie!
