Made with sugar, water and corn syrup, fondant is an amazing addition to desserts specially cakes. Here is an easy recipe to make it at home.

2 teaspoons non-flavoured gelatin 1/4 cup cold water 1/2 cup corn syrup 1 tablespoon glycerine 2 tablespoons butter 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 8 cups sifted confectioner's sugar

Combine gelatin and cold water; let sit until thick. Then place the mixture in top of double boiler and heat until completely dissolved.

Add glucose and glycerin and mix well. Stir just before completely melted and remove from heat. Add in vanilla and allow it to cool until lukewarm.

Place 4 cups confectioners' sugar in a mixing bowl and make a hole in the centre. Using a spoon, stir in the gelatin mixture along with sugar.

Knead the fondant until smooth with the remaining sugar and it is ready to use.
