The spiral-shaped Chakli, a delectable fried delicacy beloved in India, are crunchy and spicy.
1 cup rice flour ¼ cup besan ¼ cup fried gram powder ½ teaspoon salt 1 tablespoon sesame seeds 1 tablespoon butter or hot oil 1 tablespoon ajwain red chilli powder 1 pinch hing 2 cups oil
Take a bowl combine ¼ cup fried gram powder or besan. Now Add rice flour, besan, fried gram powder.
Now Add salt as per taste with sesame seeds, ajwain, hing & chilli powder to a large mixing bowl. Mix up well.
Pour Hot 1 tbsp butter or oil into the mixture. This will make the chakli crunchy.
Now Gently mix the mixture well to incorporate the oil evenly. Pour water little by little and make a dough.
Do not knead just make it a smooth thick batter. Grease the chakli maker with oil.
Take the dough and add it in the chakli maker now slowly press lto release the dough. Make spirals of the dough.
Use a a moist cloth, dry cloth or parchment paper to make chaklis on it.
Now Heat oil on a medium high flame. Fry the chaklis on both the sides until golden brown and crispy.
Remove chakli on a tissue paper and cool them completely. Store chakli on a air tight steel or glass jar.
