Beetroot halwa is a hatke recipe to use the vegetable and make a savoury dish out of it. The dish boasts a red colour, rich taste, and a hint of natural sweet notes that will make you its fan. If you are looking for its recipe, try this quick one.
1.5 cups of milk 2 cups grated beetroot 2 tablespoons ghee ¼ cup sugar 10-15 cashews ½ teaspoon cardamom powder
Peel and wash beetroot before grating it. You can also add it to a food processor and make a coarse paste of it.
Heat a pan, add ghee, and roast cashews until they turn brown and split open. Keep them aside, and in the same pan, saute beetroot for 5 minutes.
Reduce the flame once the beetroot turns aromatic. Add milk or condensed milk and let the ingredients cook.
Let the ingredients simmer at low flame until the mixture thickens. Remove the lid and add sugar.
As soon as the sugar dissolves, add roasted cashews and crushed cardamoms to the sweet mixture.
Once the ghee separates, turn off the flame, and enjoy a delicious bowl of beetroot halwa.
