Baraf ka gola is a frozen treat that carries a lot of nostalgia with it and almost everyone in India has had it at least once in their lives. It can be made in various flavours, depending on the preference. So, if you are a fan of baraf gola, then here's a recipe for you to try at home:
Ice cubes Flavoured syrups (such as rose, khus, mango, strawberry, or any flavour of your choice) Chat masala (optional) Lemon juice (optional) Fresh fruit pieces (optional, for garnish)
If you're using an ice shaver, fill it with ice cubes and shave them into a bowl until you have a fluffy, snow-like texture. If using a blender, pulse the ice cubes until they're crushed but not completely blended.
Take the shaved ice and pack it tightly into a ball shape using your hands or a mould. Insert an ice gola stick or wooden skewer into the centre of the ice ball.
Pour your chosen flavouring syrup generously over the packed ice ball. You can use one flavour or create a rainbow effect by using multiple flavours.
Sprinkle a pinch of chat masala over the syrup for a tangy twist. You can also drizzle a bit of lemon juice on it.
If desired, garnish with fresh fruit pieces like mangoes, strawberries, or kiwi.
Serve immediately and enjoy.
