Curry leaves podi is often used in a typical South Indian household for most of the dishes, be it gravy-based or dry. So, why don’t you make a preservative-free spice mix at home rather than relying on the store-bouth ones? Here’s an easy recipe you can follow.
1 teaspoon oil 1 tablespoon channa dal 1 table spoon urad dal 1 tablespoon dhaniya 1 teaspoon jeera 1 teaspoon black pepper 5 dry red chillies 1 cup curry leaves 1 tamarind Salt to taste
To make the podi, add in oil and roast on slow flame till aromatic.
Add the rest of the ingredients and cook till curry leaves are a little crispy.
Grind the micture into a fine powder.
Store it in an airtight container and use it whenever required.
