Parathas are one of the quintessential foods of India that are often enjoyed for breakfast or as a midday snack. This moong dal paratha tastes fantastic and is filling. Here's a recipe for you to try:

Ingredients

1 cup moong dal, cooked 2 cups whole wheat flour 1 tsp cumin seeds 1 tsp grated ginger 2 green chopped chillies 1/2 tsp turmeric powder Salt to taste Water (as needed) Ghee or oil for cooking

Step 1

Mix flour with a pinch of salt and water to make a soft dough. Let the dough rest for 15 minutes.

Step 2

In a pan, heat oil. Add cumin, ginger, and chillies. Add cooked moong dal, turmeric, and salt. Cook until the mixture is dry, and let it cool.

Step 3

Divide dough and filling into equal parts. Roll dough into small discs, place filling in the centre, and seal. Roll out gently.

Step 4

Heat a tawa or skillet. Cook parathas on both sides with ghee/oil until golden brown. Enjoy hot with yoghurt or pickle.
