Discover the secret to making mouth-watering Chicken Tandoori at home. This recipe combines yogurt and spices to create a rich, flavourful marinade, grilled to perfection for a taste of authentic Indian cuisine.
1.5 kg chicken, cut into pieces 1 medium lemon, juiced 1 tsp salt 1 ¼ cups plain yoghurt ½ medium onion, finely chopped 1 clove garlic, minced 2 tsp garam masala 1 tsp grated fresh ginger root 1 tsp pepper 2 tsp finely chopped coriander
Remove and discard the chicken skin, then cut slits into the meat.
Season the chicken pieces with lemon juice and salt, then let them sit for 20 minutes.
Mix yoghurt, onion, garlic, garam masala, ginger, and pepper in a bowl until smooth.
Spread the yoghurt mixture over the chicken and refrigerate for 6 to 24 hours.
Preheat a grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grate.
Grill the chicken until fully cooked, with clear juices and an internal temperature of 74°C.
Garnish the Chicken Tandoori with coriander and lemon wedges before serving.
