– 1 cup dried figs or anjeer – 1 cup condensed milk – 1 cup khoya or mawa – 1/2 cup almonds, chopped – 1/2 cup ghee – 1/2 cup powdered sugar – 1/2 teaspoon cardamom – Silver vark

Soak the dried figs in warm water for 3-4 hours or until they become soft. Once softened, drain the water and grind the figs into a smooth paste using a blender or food processor.

Heat a non-stick pan and add khoya. Cook on medium heat until it becomes slightly brown and releases a sweet aroma. Stir continuously to prevent it from sticking to the pan.

In a separate pan, heat ghee over medium heat. Add the fig paste to the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring continuously. Add the condensed milk and continue to stir

Now, add the prepared khoya to the fig mixture. Mix well until the khoya is fully incorporated. Add finely chopped almonds and continue stirring. Gradually add powdered sugar while stirring continuously. Adjust the sweetness according to your taste.

Add cardamom powder to the mixture and mix well. Grease a flat tray or plate with ghee and transfer the mixture onto it. Spread the mixture evenly

Allow the barfi to cool and set for a few hours or refrigerate for quicker setting. Once set, use a sharp knife to cut the mixture into diamond-shaped pieces.
