Celebrated on January 14 each year, til aka sesame seeds are essential for Makar Sankranti and you can make a yummy til chikki with it too.
Chikki is a type of brittle made in varied ways and a festive special is til ki chikki. Try this yummy and crunchy recipe by Chef Renu Dalal on this day.
• 1 tsp ghee • 2 tbsp jaggery • ½ cup sesame seeds
In a non-stick pan, roast the sesame seeds for 2 to 3 minutes. Heat the ghee in a vessel and add the jaggery.
Sauté till the jaggery melts. Stir till you get a thick consistency.
Take the vessel off the gas and add the til. Place parchment paper and roll out the mixture. Let it cool slightly and cut in pieces.
