Mahashivratri is celebrated with great pomp in India, with devotees indulging in “faral thalis” that are made up of “upvas foods.” One specialty in such thalis is the creamy fruit raita. Here’s a simple recipe to enable you to dig into this delectable treat during your Shivratri fast.
2 cups yoghurt ¼ cup sliced pineapple ¼ cup sliced banana ¼ sliced pineapple 2 tablespoon pomegranate seeds ½ teaspoon jeera powder 1 tablespoon sugar Salt
Empty the yoghurt into a bowl and season it with sugar, salt, and jeera powder; beat the yoghurt till the concoction becomes wrinkle-free and velvety.
Introduce the sliced banana, apple, and pineapple plus pomegranate seeds to the above mixture; blend the concoction thoroughly.
Your mixed fruit raita dish is almost ready; to get the maximum taste out of its rich flavours, chill the dish in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
Once chilled to a satisfactory degree, empty the raita in serving bowls, and serve and savour the luscious homemade delicacy as needed.
