Til Gud Ladoos are a traditional Indian sweet made with roasted sesame seeds (til) and jaggery (gud), often enjoyed during Makar Sankranti. These ladoos are rich in iron, calcium, and healthy fats, making them both a nutritious and delicious winter treat.
1 cup sesame seeds (til) 1/2 cup jaggery (gud) 1 tbsp ghee 1/4 tsp cardamom powder A pinch of dry ginger powder
Heat a pan on medium flame and dry roast the sesame seeds until they are golden brown and aromatic. Stir continuously to prevent burning. Once roasted, set them aside to cool.
In the same pan, add ghee and grated jaggery. Heat it on low flame until the jaggery melts completely. Stir occasionally to avoid burning.
Once melted, add cardamom powder and ginger powder, and mix well. Let the syrup simmer for a minute.
Add the roasted sesame seeds to the melted jaggery syrup. Mix well until the sesame seeds are evenly coated with the syrup.
Allow the mixture to cool slightly but not completely. When it's cool enough to handle, grease your palms with a little ghee and shape the mixture into small, round ladoos.
Let the ladoos cool completely before serving. Store them in an airtight container for up to a week.
