Maharashtrian-Style Vada Pav To Pair With Your Evening Tea

Vada pav is one of the most famous street foods of Maharashtra. Over time, the snack has found its way not only across the country but across the globe as well. If you are looking for a snack to pair your tea with, try making vada pav with this easy recipe.

Ingredients

3 potatoes 1/2 cup besan 1 teaspoon chopped green chilli 1 teaspoon chopped ginger 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder A pinch of hing Salt to taste Oil for frying Coriander chutney as per taste Tamarind chutney as per taste 1 packet of pav

Step 1

Make the filling for the vada by heating some oil and sauteing cumin seeds, hing, chopped ginger, and green chilli.

Step 2

Add boiled and mashed potatoes, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook till you get a fragrant mixture.

Step 3

While the filling cools, make the batter by mixing besan, salt, turmeric powder, and water.

Step 4

Make small balls by taking small portions of the filling mixture, coat them with the batter and deep fry till they are crispy.

Step 5

Take the pav, slit them from the centre and spread coriander and tamarind chutney on each side.

Step 6

Finally, add the fried vada to the pav and enjoy it hot.
