Maharashtrian Green Chilli Thetcha: Chatpati Side Dish To Enjoy With Meals

Thetcha is a chutney or achar equivalent and boasts robust flavours of chillies, garlic, and peanuts. You can serve these with a meal or pair stuffed parathas with it. This Maharashtrian recipe will make you its fan.

Ingredients

2 tsp oil 150 grams of green chillies ¼ cup peeled garlic cloves 1 tsp cumin seeds Salt to taste ½ cup peanuts

Step 1

Wash the green chillies, remove the stems, and dry them nicely.

Step 2

Use a heavy bottom pan to cook chillies in some oil until their skin develops blisters.

Step 3

Keep them aside and saute garlic and peanuts in the same pan.

Step 4

Once the ingredients have cooled off, grind them in a mortar and pestle.

Step 5

Add salt to taste to make the grinding easy. Make sure the paste is coarse.

Step 6

Mix well, store in a jar, and enjoy it with every meal.
