Spicy pomfrets stuffed with a blend of coconuts and more, this Maharashtrian classic is a must-have at your next house party. Here’s the recipe for you to try out now!
2 pomfrets, cleaned ½ tsp turmeric powder 1 tsp coriander powder 1 tsp cumin powder 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste 1 tsp red chilli powder 1 tsp garam masala powder 1 tsp lemon juice Salt, to taste Oil, to fry For the stuffing: 1 cup coconut, grated ½ cup coriander leaves 1 tsp ginger garlic paste ½ tsp red chilli powder
Place the coconut, coriander leaves, ginger garlic paste and red chilli powder in a blender and grind into a coarse paste.

Heat some oil in a pan and stir-fry this stuffing until the raw smell dissipates completely. Let the stuffing cool down.

Wash the pomfrets and insert a small knife in the slit near the head to expand the slit a bit.

Place the stuffing inside the slit and marinate the pomfrets with the remaining spices mentioned in the ingredients list.

Heat oil in a wok and place the marinated and stuffed pomfret in it. Fry until golden brown and delicious.
