Sandesh is a beloved Bengali sweet made from milk and sugar. This unique take on the classic dessert combines the sweet, tropical flavours of lychee and mango to put a fruity spin on the traditional recipe. Here is how to make this amazing dessert:
2 cups of whole milk 1/4 cup heavy cream 1/4 cup condensed milk 1/4 cup powdered sugar 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder 1 mango, peeled and pureed 1/2 cup canned lychees, drained and chopped
In a saucepan, boil milk and cream on medium heat. Stir continuously.
Reduce the heat to low and continue cooking.
Stir until the milk has reduced by half and is thick, about 15–20 minutes.
Add the condensed milk and cook for 2-3 more minutes, continuing to stir.
Remove from heat and add the powdered sugar and cardamom.
Fold in the mango puree and chopped lychees until just combined.
Pour the mixture into a greased pan and refrigerate for at least 2 hours until firm.
Once firm, cut into 1-inch squares and serve chilled.
