Loved Railway Cutlets In Indian Trains? Try This Recipe

When travelling in Indian trains, you often get cutlets for breakfast, which many would argue are quite different from popular options. Prepared with boiled vegetables shaped into cutlets, you can make this deep-fried snack at home.

Ingredients

For Cutlet 2 tbsp oil 2 chilli 1-inch ginger 1 cup carrot, beans 2 boiled potatoes 1 cup peas, beetroot ¼ tsp turmeric 1 tsp chilli powder ½ tsp pepper, garam masala ¾ tsp salt 2 tsp lemon juice ½ cup breadcrumbs 2 tbsp coriander

Ingredients

For Slurry: ½ cup maida ¼ cup corn flour ½ tsp chilli flakes ½ tsp salt ½ cup water Other Ingredients 1 cup panko breadcrumbs Oil, for frying

Step 1

Heat a pan, and saute all the vegetables in it. Add powdered spices and cook.

Step 2

Once veggies are cooked, let them cool off and mix them with mashed potatoes, lemon juice, coriander, and bread crumbs.

Step 3

Grease hands with oil, and shape the mixture into cutlets.

Step 4

Dip these patties into the slurry and coat them with bread crumbs.

Step 5

Deep-fry the cutlets in hot oil until they are brown and crispy.

Step 6

Enjoy railway cutlets with ketchup or chutney.
