Vadas are popular South Indian snacks that can be savoured with chutney or sambar. While they are usually deep-fried, they are high in fats and calories. To make them healthier, follow these tips.
One of the simplest ways to make vadas healthier is to air fry them which cuts down most of the oil.
Instead of using refined flour, opt for whole-grain alternatives like whole wheat flour or ragi flour.
Adding urad dal or chana dal to the batter can increase protein content and other nutrients.
Incorporating vegetables like carrots, onions, or spinach can enhance the nutritional value of vadas.
Pair vadas with healthy toppings like chutney made with coconut and coriander, or a healthy bowl of sambar.
