Bombay Sandwich, also known as Mumbai Sandwich, is a popular street food from Mumbai. It’s a delicious and satisfying snack that combines fresh vegetables, flavorful chutneys, and cheese, all grilled to perfection.
8 slices of bread 2-3 tbsp butter 1/2 cup green chutney (coriander-mint chutney) 1 potato 1 cucumber 1 tomato 1 beetroot 1 medium onion 1/2 cup grated cheese Chaat masala Black salt Ground black pepper
Spread butter evenly on one side of each bread slice. Spread a layer of green chutney over the buttered side of each slice.
Arrange a few slices of boiled potato evenly over the bread. Add a layer of cucumber slices and then a layer of tomato, beetroot and onion slices.
Sprinkle chaat masala, black salt, and freshly ground black pepper over the vegetables. Add grated cheese. Place another slice of bread over this.
Grill the sandwich using a sandwich maker or toast it on a tava, flipping to toast both sides evenly.
Serve hot with extra green chutney, ketchup, or any dip of your choice.
